46 Percent Of Americans Avoid Crowded Gyms

San Diego, CA (WFN) -- A lot of Americans are exercising caution about working out in a gym -- mostly because they're too crowded.

According to a survey by the American Council on Exercise, 46 percent of Americans who avoid fitness clubs say they do so because they're "too crowded."

-- 21 percent don't go because they "don't know what they're doing."

-- 19 percent fear they'll be "the only one who isn't buff."

-- 11 percent say they avoid gyms because of clods who don't wipe off a machine after a cardio workout or hog all the weight machines.

-- Finally, three percent don't visit gymnasiums because they're "afraid to ask questions."
