New York, NY (WFN) -- Poison guitarist C.C. DeVille is getting a poison-pen note from guitarists -- he's been chosen the worst guitar soloist of all-time by "Guitar World" magazine. Editors recently selected the 100 worst guitar solos for a special issue, and DeVille's nine-minute diddling on Poison's "Swallow This...Live!" CD was chosen as the single worst performance of all time. "Guitar World" editor Brad Tolinski says DeVille's problem is that he's a pop rock guitarist who is trying to compete with virtuosos like Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai "...and fails miserably." DeVille's legend as a stringmeister looms so large that the magazine includes a special icon on the list whenever he appears -- a caricature of his face. Other guitar zeroes making the list include Carlos Santana's performance on "The Game Of Love," which makes the cut because it's "boring and uninspiring" and George Harrison's solo on "All You Need Is Love," which is so inept that producer George Martin was forced to cover up the ending by increasing the volume on the violins.
