|
New York, NY (WFN) -- Regardless of who you think won last week's presidential debate, one thing is for sure: Both candidates spoke well -- for junior high students. The Princeton Review has analyzed the words used by George W. Bush and John Kerry during their debate and experts say "Dubya" speaks at the same level as the average 6th grader while Kerry has the vocabulary of a 7th grade student. Compared to previous presidential candidates, the two don't exactly make the grade. For instance, Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas spoke at the 11th and 12th grade levels during their 1858 debates while John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon graded out at the same level as high school sophomores. Finally, while Bush and Kerry may pass muster with voters, they might have problems passing the SATs. A Princeton Review spokesman analyzed the two candidates' closing speeches with the same standards used on 11th graders taking the SATs and Bush received a possible four out of six points while Kerry scored only three out of six.
