| 2004-10-04 - Weird News Wireless Flash News Bulgarian University Plagued By Fleas And Unsightly Couches | ||
|
Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria (WFN) -- There's more bad luck for the students at the American University in Bulgaria: The school has been inundated by fleas and unsightly couches. Student reporters say that rooms in the Skaptopara dormitory are being fumigated because students are being eaten alive by fleas. Also last week, the administration threw out the couches in the school's central area because students were sleeping on them, which, according to the Chief of Operations Nikolay Diankov, makes it look inappropriate when business people and potential donors visit the campus. The news comes on the heels of an accident last month that rocked the school when a bunk bed collapsed on a sleeping student and revealed that many of the University's bunk bed were merely held up by nails. Over the years, the University has also been plagued with a body odor problem in the dormitory caused by students working up a sweat playing ping-pong, and various gut wrenching food incidents including a mouse tail found in a piece of bread and a fingernail found in some carrot salad.
