|
New York, NY (WFN) -- First, someone discovered an unpublished Ernest Hemingway manuscript. Now, a longlost novel by comedian Andy Kaufman is getting attention. A novel written by the former "Taxi" cast member was recently discovered in a storage trunk by his brother, Michael Kaufman, and now he and his wife, Pru, are considering whether or not to publish the manuscript, which is called "The Hollering Mangoo." Kaufman describes the novel as both dark and humorous and says it was influenced by Italian surrealist director Frederico Fellini. In one scene, a teenage girl kills her mother and blames it on her baby sister, who is then arrested by police. Currently, the Kaufmans are in talks with various publishers about bringing the book to the public to honor the 20th anniversary of the comedian's death. Still, Michael admits he hasn't decided because, in his words, "some of Andy's fans think he should make the decision on whether the book should see the light of day."
