Fort Lauderdale, FL (WFN) -- A Florida-based man is helping folks turn hurricanes into teacup tempests.

Motivational speaker Michael Levy believes folks can enjoy even the stormiest hurricane by simply changing their mental state of mind.

He says folks should make a conscious choice to enjoy the hurricane and for him that means sitting on the beach like he did during hurricanes Frances and Jeanne because of the rejuvenating winds.

Still, Levy doesn't advocate that because as he says, "the sand felt like little bullets against the skin." Instead, he recommends turning off the media reports and listening to upbeat music or reading joke books.

He also suggests fleeing the hurricane's path if possible but if you can't, try throwing a party during it and reflect about why you're afraid of hurricanes because, in his words, "It had to be put there by someone, because no one is born with the fear of them.
