London, England (WFN) -- When Cal MacAninch took a role in the BBC TV show, "Rockface," he didn't know he would fall in love. The show is about a volunteer mountain rescue team who perform rescues on one of the most treacherous peaks in Scotland and MacAninch says he mainly accepted a part just for the chance to work in "a beautiful place." But soon after shooting, MacAninch developed a love for mountain climbing and says it now "has become one of the passions in my life." Along with the other cast members, MacAninch learned how to climb during six months of boot-camp style lessons in climbing, rapelling and survival skills before filming began. Many of the cast members suffered windburn and frostbite and while training and shooting the series was tough, MacAninch says it was "a great bonding experience with the actors." Since then, MacAninch's passion has caused him to climb many mountains including Mt. Whitney in California. "Rockface" premieres on BBC America starting Oct. 1.
