Chicago, IL (WFN) -- You may not know singer Wanda Jackson but her name could soon be on the lips of visitors to the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Jackson is one of the rock pioneers being considered for induction, along with luminaries like Lynyrd Skynyrd, U2 and the Sex Pistols. It's an honor she doesn't take lightly, considering she's starting her 50th year as a singer -- and was afraid to tackle rock music at first. Jackson says she was afraid her voice wouldn't be suitable but says her friend, Elvis Presley, convinced her to try it and, as she puts it, "He turned out to be right. He said this music was the latest thing." Some of Jackson's most rocking hits include "Let's Have A Party" and "Fujiyama Mama" but had country hits like "Right Or Wrong" before going to gospel. However, she's spent the last 20 years rocking out after deciding this was how God wanted her to spread his message. Jackson is currently promoting her bid for the Rock Hall with two compilations: "Rockin' With Wanda" and "Vintage Collections" and hopes it gets her inducted next March. Still, if it happens, she admits her first question will be, "What am I going to wear?"
