London, Ontario (WFN) -- "Big Brother" just finished its fifth season and that's a big letdown to fans who want the show to air at other times of the year besides summer. But some "Big Brother" buffs are taking matters into their own hands by petitioning CBS to run the reality show twice a year. Kelly Powell, who runs realityhq.com, has posted a petition asking network executives to add a second season during the regular programming year. Powell says the show has never had a chance to show what it can really do in the ratings because, in her words, "it's always in the summer when a lot of people are at their summer cottage and not watching as much TV." Despite this, she claims "Big Brother" is hugely successful and says its fans are more involved on the internet than other reality shows that get bigger ratings like "The Apprentice" or "The Amazing Race." She figures the show would be even more popular during the winter because housebound fans would get "even more involved" with the live internet feeds. Powell has sent numerous letters to CBS executives demanding Big Brother be brought back in winter but, so far, they've been ignored. Still, she says the petition already had thousands of responses even though it's only been posted for two days. This, despite a number of fans who refuse to sign because as she puts its, "they don't want their bosses to know they're obsessed with the show."
