Washington, D.C. (WFN) -- Wayne Newton is temporarily leaving Las Vegas to visit Washington, D.C. The USO will honor Newton on October 14 with a special reception to thank the entertainer for dedication to performing for American service members stationed around the world. Newton will also perform at the event with comedian Rob Schneider and country singer Neal McCoy. NEW YORK -- Robert Downey, Jr., is keying on a new career -- as a classical pianist. Sony Classical has signed the drug-plagued actor and will release his first CD of original songs on November 23. The recording will also feature his renditions of the Charlie Chaplin tune, "Smile," and "Your Move," a song by the prog-rock band, Yes. LOS ANGELES -- James Garner is acting proud these days -- with good reason. The star of "The Notebook" will receive a lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actors Guild at its annual awards ceremony, which will be held in February. SAN SABASTIAN, Spain -- Woody Allen may not like George W. Bush as president but he thinks he makes a great comic. Allen recently told a crowd of fans at a Spanish film festival that "...if you observe Bush, it's quite amusing. If you listen to him as he speaks, if you follow him closely, it would provide you a great many laughs. But it's the perfect example of islands of comedy, comic moments against a very, very tragic background." LOS ANGELES -- What would life have been for the "Sex and the City" girls if the much-anticipated movie had been given the greenlight? Actor Chris Noth tells E! Online "Mr. Big" would have asked Carrie to marry him, and she would have said, "No." Cynthia Nixon says Kristin Davis' character was going to adopt a Chinese baby and Nixon's character would have gone to China with her. Finally, Sarah Jessica Parker reveals her character would have undergone an '80s flashback scene. In Parker's words, "Oh yeah! That would've been fun for the hair and makeup department. Definitely."
