Los Angeles, CA -- Heather Locklear and Blair Underwood are loving working on their new drama, "LAX," but don't expect their characters to be loving each other.

Both Locklear and Underwood say their characters will definitely have a love-hate relationship "a la" the characters on "Cheers" or "Moonlighting" but plan to string out any potential romance as long as possible.

As Underwood puts it, "The watchword on the set is 'Rhoda got married'" and says as soon as that happened on the 1970s sitcom, people stopped watching.

Underwood and Locklear's characters may not get together but the two get along famously. Although the script for the "LAX" pilot has been around for awhile, Locklear says she agreed to do the show when she knew Underwood was signed on as her co-star.

There may have been another compelling reason why Locklear jumped on the show: She loves her character's name, Harley Random, and says that's because she "...used to have a dog named Harley."

"LAX" debuts tonight (Sep. 13) on NBC.
