San Francisco, CA (WFN) -- A dermatologist sees an emerging trend that the cosmetic industry may be rubbing Hollywood the wrong way. Dr. Vail Reese says summertime flicks like "Catwoman" and "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" could be signs that the big wigs in Hollywood may be frustrated by the unfounded youth-restoring claims of cosmetics makers. Both movies feature evil cosmetic companies which sell, in Dr. Reese' words, "cosmaceuticals of mass destruction." The doc says movie makers could be casting cosmetic makers as the bad guys because in the last decade there has been a proliferation of topical ingredients which tout to be the next anti-aging panacea. For some unknown reason though, people are willing to spend as much as $300 on the unverified treatments rather than FDA approved ones like Avage or Renova. Reese says the movies could suggest a backlash is brewing.
