Denver, CO -- Wine tastings are popular events for singles to meet but some people are souring on them.

That's the case in Denver, Colorado, where one singles group is hoping to catch a buzz by organizing a margarita tasting instead.

This Friday (Sep. 10), a company called Eight At Eight is holding a margarita tasting for Sauza-loving singles who say wine tastings leave them as cold as crushed ice.

Event spokeswoman Karen Cryderman says some booze-loving singles are turned off by wine tastings because they're not interested in pretentiously pondering the bouquet of a wine.

Cryderman figures a margarita tasting is more egalitarian because a person doesn't have to be an expert to discuss the merits of a mango margarita versus one flavored with strawberry-mint or cucumber.

Friday's margarita tasting is believed to be the first of its kind but Cryderman says if it's a success, her company will organize others in cities, especially those with large Spanish-speaking populations.
