New York, NY (WFN) -- The investigators on "CSI" are always revealing criminals' secrets -- but now, they're revealing some of their own. A new book, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Companion" (Pocket Books), gives the scoop behind every episode on the first three seasons of the top-rated show, including trivia tidbits such as... -- The show's signature forensic shots -- which show what a bullet looks like entering a victim's body -- were developed by director Danny Cannon using a periscope lens which plunges into a prosthetic body. -- Producers were able to land the rights to The Who's "Who Are You?" as the show's theme song because they sent Pete Townshend a copy of the pilot and he loved it. -- And, finally, thanks to a Season One episode where star William Petersen used sign language, he was once approached by a deaf woman who mistakenly thought he was fluent. In his words, "I was like, Damn! I just had to tell her that I don't know how to sign."
