Salt Lake City, UT (WFN) -- Booze it or lose it: The authors of a new reality TV show handbook says alcohol can be your best friend for competing against other contestants. Joe Borgenicht and John Sadde wrote "The Reality Handbook" (Quirk) using their insider knowledge as writers and producers on reality shows like "The Bachelor," and according to Borgenicht, booze is a great way to worm information out of your peers. Borgenicht says booze is always available on romance reality shows and says a great way to start the drinks -- and secrets -- flowing is to start a champagne toast. However, make sure you're the one pouring and give a full glass to everyone else, but fill your own with mostly suds. When everyone is loosened up, casually drop questions into the conversation. The book also covers topics like "How to Hook Up on Camera," "How to Endear Yourself to the Parents," "How to Offer a Nonbinding Proposal" and "How to Date Multiple Partners." Borgenicht figures his book will raise the bar for reality shows and potential contestants.
