Chicago, IL (WFN) -- Wine is usually paired with food, but one expert prefers to pair it with reality shows. Wine expert Karen McNeil claims certain wines match up with some reality shows better than others. For instance, she recommends drinking a Petite Syrah while watching "The Apprentice" because it's "as tough as nails, thick-skinned and fiercely dark and devious." On the other hand, a Pinot Noir goes really well with "The Bachelor" because it has a sensual texture and an aroma that hints of dried roses. McNeil also suggests a Cabernet Sauvignon for "The Amazing Race" because it's "resilient enough to endure just about anything" and "grows in just about every corner of the globe." If you're watching "Survivor: Vanuatu," McNeil says your best bet is Cote-Rotie, which she says is "a nice red wine at first sip but then all its primitive wild flavors are unleashed." Finally, an Asti Spumante sparkling wine is the best bottle for watching Jessica Simpson on "Newlyweds" because, like the singer, it's "exuberant, charming and a little naive."
