|
Nashville, TN (WFN) -- The current presidential campaign is turning out to be a real gas for a Nashville-based bean company. The Vietti brand just released two new bean blends inspired by the Republican and Democratic parties. The Republican version features Texas-style chili beans flavored with a conservative amount of hot pepper while the Democrats get Boston Baked Beans that have been liberally saturated with Heinz tomato ketchup. The politically-flavored beans are the brainchild of Vietti president Philip Connelly, who came up with the concept three weeks ago and pushed it through his bean counters. Despite a polarized voting bloc, the response has "bean" overwhelming. Connelly says most customers are purchasing both cans and he expects sales to explode as the November election nears. Although Connelly hopes his product gives voters a taste of politics, he figures they'll be most popular as an investment. In his words, "Billy Beer is selling for $400 on eBay so we're saving cases of our beans and planning to use them for our retirement."
