New York, NY (WFN) -- John Kerry may be leading in some presidential polls but he isn't cutting the mustard with sandwich eaters in New York. In the last few days, Kerry has seen his support drop in a wry sandwich survey being taken at the Stage Deli in New York. For the past five weeks, the delicatessen has been selling its famous combination of corned beef, pastrami and swiss on rye under two names: The "John Kerry" and the "George W. Bush." Up until last week, more people were asking for the sandwich using Kerry's name rather than Bush's moniker, 62 percent to 38 percent. But now Kerry only leads by a narrow 51 percent. As a result, Stage Deli owner Steve Auerbach predicts Kerry may soon be in a pickle -- especially since he expects sales of the George W. Bush sandwich to soar during next week's Republican convention. However, there is a swing sandwich for customers who are on the fence. Auerbach says customers who can't decide between the two candidates can buy a "party neutral" version, which he jokes is half-Bush and half-Kerry.
