Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Music is a family affair for the 1960s-era band the Cowsills -- at least for one night. On September 13, all seven surviving members of the Cowsills -- who had hits with songs like "Hair" and "The Rain, The Park And Other Things" -- are reuniting onstage for the first time in years. Bob Cowsill says the event is a charity concert to help the family's oldest brother, Bill, who currently suffers from emphysema, osteoporosis and a collapsed lung. Bill was kicked out of the band at the height of its career for smoking pot and had little communication with the other Cowsills until recent years. Besides the family reunion, Bob is hoping a member of another musical family, "The Partridge Family," shows up. The Cowsills were the real-life inspiration for the popular sitcom and Bob has invited series star Shirley Jones to perform, "I Really Want To Know You," the only ditty recorded by both bands. No word on whether Jones will show up to lend her pipes but the Cowsills reunion should still be studded with celebrities onstage -- The Bangles are the opening act.
