Los Angeles, CA -- A New York-based writer is out to prove men are dogs -- and that's not a bad thing.

Georgia Sullivan has spent the last five years researching dog breeds to determine the parallels between the pooches' behavior and the way men act. She shares her results in the new relationship guide, "Porch Dogs" (Botchino Press).

Sullivan tested out her theories on men via a quiz which determines their "breed," and found the canine comparisons ring true.

For instance, driven career men show similar characteristics to tenacious terriers, while macho guys have the same "king of the castle" attitude as Rottweilers.

Sullivan intends the book to be a how-to guide for women so they can determine which type of man they prefer and stop going out with guys just because they look cute, like that puppy in the pet shop window.

On the flip side, she wants the book to assure men that they don't need to change their personalities for any woman -- they just need to be the dog that they've always been.
