Norwalk, CT (WFN) -- Looks like Belgians like more head than Americans -- as far as beer is concerned.

That's according to Cirby Scyer, a draught developer for Belgian beer company, Stella Artois. He says a good Belgian beer pour leaves at least, "...two fingers of head in the glass,"

Scyer will be looking for lots of head starting next Tuesday (Aug. 24) in Philadelphia when the beer company holds Belgian beer pouring competitions for bartenders across the U.S.

He says Belgians like their beer to have "a big thick head," while Americans typically want less foam in their suds.

Scyer will head a panel of draught experts who will be judging bartenders based on more than 30 criteria including, glass cleaning, tapping techniques and serving skills.

Consistently giving the right amount of head isn't easy and takes time and a lot of practice says Scyer, but the top pourers will go to Brussels in October to compete in the world finals.
