Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson is finding out that a solo career isn't hard to handle at all. Robinson is about to release his first solo CD, "Paper," and while it's more personal than the Crowes' recordings, he promises that the new album has no navel-gazing numbers. He says most singer-songwriters "strum the same s*** the same way" and took pains not to inflict that on his fans. Although Robinson didn't work with brother, Chris Robinson, on the recording, it still was a family affair, considering he wrote the album at home surrounded by his two sons, ages eight and four. As he puts it, "They helped with the inspiration. There's so much to learn from them." Another thing that Robinson has learned is dealing with his volatile relationship with brother, Chris. The two have been known for their legendary squabbles, but Rich says there's been peace, especially since Chris and wife Kate Hudson, had their own child, Ryder, seven months ago. In his words, "He's a great kid." "Paper" hits stores Aug. 24 and the first single is titled "Enemy." Robinson plans to tour behind the record this fall but admits he has no plans to strum any Crowes classics.
