Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Being president can drive you to drink but wanting to be president may be a sign you're already an alcoholic. According to addiction expert Doug Thorburn, intense over-achieving can be a sign of alcoholism as well as a need to be a megalomaniacal ruler. Thorburn says dictators like Adolf Hitler had personality traits that suggest extreme alcoholism and claims North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il is "the most dangerous man in the world: An alcoholic with nukes." He claims the U.S. presidency attracts personality types prone to drug addiction and cites Richard Nixon, Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy, who he terms a "poly-drug addict," as examples. In addition, Thorburn figures alcohol or drug addiction is "the only explanation" for Bill Clinton's encounter with Monica Lewinsky. Although Thorburn doesn't know for sure if George W. Bush or John Kerry is a boozehound, he hopes his new book, "How To Spot Hidden Alcoholics" (Galt Publishing) helps parents and officials weed out alcoholics before they become a danger to society.
