Los Angeles, CA -- Listen up John Edwards: If you think you're going to have as much power and influence as Dick Cheney has, think again. That's according to Dan Coen, the managing director at vicepresidents.com and author of a recent book that delves into the history of the office of the Vice President. Coen says Cheney "is the most dominant vice president in history," which he credits to Dubya giving so much responsibility. Cheney's link in the chain of command is a big change for the office of the vice president because, Coen says, normally "they are not supposed to do anything." Edwards won't be allowed the same puppet master capacity as Cheney. Coen says John Kerry likes to call most of the shots -- which may lead Edwards to do what he's supposed to do -- nothing. Regardless of whether Cheney or Edwards becomes vice president, Coen still says the best vice president in his opinion was Alben Barkley, who served under President Harry S. Truman.
