Barbados Man Banking On Domino Theory

Barbados (WFN) -- Dominoes isn't as big a sport as football but a man in the Barbados is banking that Americans will fall for it starting tomorrow (Jul. 16).

The World Championship of Dominoes starts on the Caribbean island and organizer Cedric Alleyne figures more than 400 top domino dynamos will be in Barbados for an 11-day tournament that promises to be quite competitive.

Contestants will compete in singles and doubles formats and, if the domino theory holds correct, the No. 1 player will topple out on top on July 27.

The tournament takes place every two years, each time in a different location. As such, Alleyne feels a lot of pressure for a good show because, in his words, "it could put Barbados on the map."
