|
London, England (WFN) -- Queen Elizabeth is used to having her dirty laundry aired in public, and next Friday (Jul. 23) Kensington Palace will do it for her. Twelve different outfits worn by her royal heiney will be put on display for "The Queen's Working Wardrobe: Memories of Royal Occasions 1945-1972." The exhibition is a display of clothing the Queen wore over the years while she was on the clock at work. The oldest outfit on display is the Queen's Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) uniform that she first wore in February 1945 when she joined ATS during World War II. Another dress on display will be an off-the-shoulder black velvet evening gown she wore when she met Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot at the Royal Film Performance of "The Battle of the River Plate" in 1956. The exhibition will run for a year.
