Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- A self-described "perceptionist" is offering to teach both John Kerry and George W. Bush how to put some razzmatazz into their public appearances. Joel Bauer, author of the book "How to Persuade People Who Don't Want to Be Persuaded" (Wiley & Sons) says both candidates are actors and, "if they want to win votes, they have to do what it takes." A lot of what it takes to persuade people involves using visual cues like touching the hand to the heart -- but another attention-grabber is magic. Bauer recommends the candidates use sleight of hand to turn a dollar bill into a hundred dollar bill, then tell the audience, "I will put more money in your pocket." Or, they could make the bill burst into flames and say, "That's how fast my opponent will be burning through your tax dollars!" Bauer is now offering his services to teach Bush or Kerry his technique free of charge, but first he's working on how to convince them to give him a call.
