Hoffman Estates, IL (WFN) -- Many women would rather hear Bob Vila drone on about drills and aluminum siding than listen to Dr. Phil banter about relationships. That's according to a recent home maintenance survey by Sears, which shows three out of five women would rather receive an hour of advice from the home repair pro than chatting with the relationship guru. Also, 69 percent of women consider themselves somewhat or very handy, and 83 percent say they feel independent when they work with tools such as hammers, screwdrivers and drills. Although the survey suggests women's role in home maintenance are changing, what hasn't changed is that women are still the queens of their domain. Nearly 90 percent of ladies are expected to be solely responsible for maintaining a home. And if you think women don't have a say when it comes to making a home repair decision, think again. Among married or cohabiting women, 91 percent say they are involved in home repairs.
