Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- If you believe in fairies clap your hands, because Margaret Kerry does: She was the model for Tinkerbell in Walt Disney's 1953 animated classic "Peter Pan." At age 16, Kerry and her then-24-year-old Peter Pan cohort, Roland Dupree, posed, tights and all, in front of animators for two years to be captured in cartoon form. The now-75 actress says being Tink was tough. Kerry once had to take a tumble for the animators, and all they gave her was a thin mattress to land on. She says, "I'm glad there wasn't sound, because I let out a screech." This year marks the centennial of James Barrie's play "Peter Pan," and to commemorate their contribution to Neverland, Kerry and Dupree are recalling their memories of the film as well as showcasing a collection of artwork from the film at greatamericanink.com/peterpan. In Kerry's words, "Touching pre-production artwork made by [animator] Mark Davis is like holding the original script for the play -- it's magic."
