Nanjing, China -- A man in China is hoping to live long and prosper now that he's convinced plastic surgeons to give him a set of ears like "Star Trek's" Mister Spock. The sci-fi fan told doctors he was bored with the natural shape of his ears and wanted to make them look "more interesting," reports the "Yangtze Evening News."

NEW YORK -- Women are catching up to men in the marital cheating department. According to "Newsweek" magazine, the number of married women who are having sex with men other than their husbands has risen to 40 percent. By comparison, about 50 percent of hubbies are cheaters.

KHAYELITSHA, South Africa -- A 100-year-old South African man had the plug pulled on his bid to make it into the "Guinness Book of Records" for fastest 100-year-old to run 100 meters when a power failure stopped the clock timing the event. Philip Rabinowitz says he believes his time was 28.7 seconds, beating the old record of 36.1 seconds. He says he still feels wonderful, and he already holds the record for world's oldest competitive walker.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's private label cigars are becoming a coveted keepsake around California's state Capitol, according to Stockton's "The Record" newspaper. Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian says while he doesn't smoke because of asthma, he does hand out the cigars to his constituents as ice breakers. Fellow assemblyman Guy Houston says, "It's not a Cuban or anything, but it's a quality cigar."
