Attack Of The Robotic Fireflies

Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Novelty geeks are buzzing like moths to a flame at a new product -- robotic fireflies.

The so-called "Creativations Fireflies" are light-emitting diodes designed to mimic the movements of fireflies in the dark, thanks to small fans attached to each wire.

Pam Gentry, the spokeswoman for the company making the fake fireflies, says the product is designed for people who live in areas without fireflies and want to reproduce the atmosphere without getting bugged.

She claims the robotic flies are so realistic that "...cats try to swat them" but admits no one has tried to catch them in a jar.

The robotic fireflies are just now flying into stores but flying out may be a different story. A set of six fake fireflies sells for a whopping 98 bucks.
