On July 1 the taco shop will allow customers in major U.S. cities to spin a big wheel 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. local times. Depending on where the wheel lands, patrons will pay between 99 cents and $1.29 for 15 gallons of gas, and also get their windows washed and a coupon for a free Big Bell Value Menu item. ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- It's a case of life imitating art: The Sands Casino Hotel in Atlantic City recreated the famous painting of dogs playing poker in a publicity stunt to drum up business for a new table games pit. The hotel had five live dogs last week at its card table and a sign that read "Sands Casino Hotel: Where the Big Dogs Play." WASHINGTON, D.C. -- It's never to early to start thinkin' about President Lincoln, whose birthday bicentennial will be February 12, 2009. The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission presented to Congress last Friday (Jun. 24) its recommendations for the national celebration. Officials suggest minting a special bicentennial penny; a commemorative Lincoln postage stamp; a major celebration at the Lincoln Memorial as well as Lincoln-themed curriculum for school teachers.
