Santa Cruz, CA (WFN) -- Bill Clinton's hit memoir may be titled "My Life" but there's only a ghost of a chance it's 100 percent his book.

That's the professional opinion of ghostwriting guru Mahesh Grossman, who has devised a system that can figure out how much of an autobiography was actually written by the author.

He says the amount of time the author had to actually write the book is usually a dead giveaway as are the number of editors and researchers listed in the acknowledgements.

Another factor: How many passages sound like excerpts from "Time" magazine and how many are in the author's actual voice.

Grossman says Clinton does pretty well on the ghostwriting scale. He figures the former president wrote 75 percent of the book but "was rewritten a lot," especially because Clinton has a tendency to remember every person and place he's ever seen."

Grossman is the author of a new book, "Write A Book Without Lifting A Finger" (10 Finger Press).
