|
Paderborn, Germany -- The days are numbered for college cheaters who buy their term papers online, thanks to a new software program. The so-called Plagiarism-Finder takes term paper files and cross-references the text with every document existing on the internet, looking for matching phrases and paragraphs. Professors can uncover plagiarists in anywhere from two to 40 minutes per document using the software, according to Mediaphor software CEO Gunter Wielage, who makes the Plagiarism-Finder. But the program has other uses, he's found. Wielage says journalists and PR agencies also use the Plagiarism-Finder to track down copycats and copyright violators. The software first launched in Germany two months ago, but demand has been so strong that his company has made a multilingual international version available as well. The Plagiarism-Finder can be downloaded for $125 at Plagiarism-Finder.com.
