|
Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Tell me something good: Rufus, the '70s soul band who gave the world Chaka Khan, is undergoing a revival and seeking a new lead singer. Group members Andre Fischer and Bobby Watson are bringing back the band which sang, "Tell Me Something Good," and are seeking two new vocalists to give the band a new sound for the new century. But Chaka Khan clones need not apply. Fischer says no one can replace her. Instead, the band wants exceptional vocal talent capable of blending in with the band. Fischer says "Khan's talent is where we're setting the bar for entry" but the chosen singers will have to rise above that level to succeed. Aspiring Rufus members should be at least 19 years of age but there's no age maximum because, in Fischer's words, "I can't say no until I hear them sing." The winning vocalists will record a single with Rufus and tour with the band. In addition, Fischer adds, "I'm friends with Diane Warren and Lionel Richie so songs won't be a problem."
