Washington -- Democrats are putting in their two cents on whether late president Ronald Reagan's face should be put on the U.S. dime. The Democrats for America's Future have launched an e-mail campaign to preserve what they call "the legacy of the Franklin Delano Roosevelt dime." Executive Director of DAF, Jennifer Petty, says they don't want to see Ronnie's mug on the dime or the half-dollar, which bears democrat president John F. Kennedy's face. Petty claims republicans are using this tribute as an opportunity to "tear down and vilify the memories of two of the greatest Americans." But while the group is bent on leaving the dime and half-dollar alone, Petty says her group has not put forth any suggestions on finding a compromise. "Our primary fight is to make sure the legacy of the dime is preserved," she says. The group plans to send signatures collected at the website savethefdrdime.org to republican senators who are meeting in July to discuss a commemoration for Reagan.
