|
New York, NY -- Daryl Hall is going to be a soul survivor on his latest tour. Tomorrow night (Jun. 24), Hall and partner John Oates start a nationwide tour with Michael McDonald and the Average White Band in Tampa, Florida, that is being billed as the "Rock 'n' Soul Revue." Although the duo will be performing their hits, Hall is especially excited about the show's encore because it will give him a chance to jam with McDonald and the AWB on all their hits in the manner of an oldtime soul revue. But the tour isn't the sole project Hall and Oates are working on. They've finished a new CD, tentatively titled "Our Kind Of Soul," that features remakes of their favorite songs, including "Used To Be My Girl" and "I'll Be Around." However, Hall prefers the term "reconstruction" to "remake" because, as he puts it, "We've changed the mood and the keys and even rewrote the lyrics to make them relevant."
