Fall River, MA -- Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her mother 40 whacks...and then had a nice hot cappuccino? The new owner of the Fall River, Massachusetts, home where Borden allegedly killed her parents is considering opening a Starbucks coffee shop in the building. Donald Woods tells "The Boston Globe" he thinks the addition of a coffee shop could increase the appeal of the murderous site. DENVER/WASHINGTON -- Rising gas prices are going Loews. The Loews hotel chain is offering a rebate to travelers who show their gas receipts before booking a room. Both the Loews in Denver and The Jefferson in Washington, D.C., will knock off up to $30 off the price of a room to reimburse tourists who drive to those destinations. LONDON -- A Canadian man has bet $110,000 with Ladbrokes that George W. Bush will be reelected, making it the largest bet the bookmakers have ever taken from an American election. Odds were set at 8 to 11 that Bush will win, and if he does, the bettor will win back his money plus $80,000 more. AUSTIN, Texas -- An Austin, Texas, man is holding fast to his websites Bush2004.com, dot-org and dot-net, despite being offered $135,000 by George W. Bush supporters for the whole lot. Brian Rodgers bought the addresses last year and turned them into satire sites which slam President Bush. He refuses to sell the sites according to wired.com, saying Bush is a "sorry son of a bitch and I'll do anything I can to bring him down." CORRECTION: The June 21 story, FILM PROMISES TO EVEN THE SCORE WITH NETWORK TV, contained an incorrect phone number in the contact line. The correct number for Joni DeRouchie is (360) 326-3275.
