Ray Charles Funeral Set For Friday (Jun. 18)

Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Ray Charles' funeral is scheduled for Friday (Jun. 18) and should be a sad, and star-studded, occasion.

The invitation-only service is taking place at 10 a.m. at a Los Angeles church and will feature remarks by friends such as Willie Nelson, B.B. King, Clint Eastwood, Stevie Wonder, Glen Campbell and Jesse Jackson.

Following the service, a funeral procession accompanied by a 26-member motorcycle escort will pass by Brother Ray's beloved recording studio -- which the soul legend called "the only home I've truly had" -- and pause for one minute before continuing to the cemetery.

Members of the public who wish to pay their respects can visit Charles for a final viewing tomorrow (Jun. 17) at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
