Troubadour Green Lights New Catchphrase

Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Does "red light go" sound like a hip new catchphrase? A modern day troubadour thinks so.

Irish-born poet, singer and songwriter Steve Kerr is working to put the catchphrase "red light go" on people's minds wherever he goes.

Kerr says the phrase sums up how Americans respond to things when they get a red light -- meaning they face an obstacle -- they just keep going. Interestingly enough, the phrase came to him while he was walking over the Brooklyn Bridge.

He uses it in his music and poetry and also in a line of clothing geared toward the hip-hop nation and skater kids.

Kerr sells the t-shirts -- which feature the slogan on a red stop sign -- on the boardwalk at Venice Beach, California.

The next catchphrase Kerr's working on will be "Green Light Stop," which means stop abusing the environment.
