|
New York, NY -- One of the kings of TV themes has reason to sing -- he's made the Songwriter Hall Of Fame. Charles Fox -- the man responsible for classic TV themes like "The Love Boat, Happy Days" and "Laverne And Shirley" -- will be inducted into the prestigious hall this Thursday (Jun. 10) in New York. Fox is thrilled by the honor but isn't necessarily surprised since, he admits, "there are a number of lyricists I've worked with who are already in the Hall." Although Fox has been nominated for Oscars for his cinematic music, he admits he loves writing TV themes because "a good one brings you in the world of the show, without giving everything away." Other music greats making the Hall this year include Al Green, Daryl Hall and John Oates, and Don McLean, who, according to legend, inspired "Killing Me Softly With His Song," which was written by Fox.
