	2004-06-03 - Weird News Wireless Flash News Movie Star Homes As Pretty As A Picture

Newport Beach, CA (WFN) -- Movie stars are supposed to be beautiful and many of them have homes that are also, as the phrase goes, "pretty as a picture." That's the picture that author Judy Hartunian got while researching a new book about movie star homes. Not only did she have to find Tom Hanks' house, Jim Carrey's casa and Drew Barrymore's abode, but Hartunian also spent hours hunting for the homes of golden era stars like Claudette Colbert and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. -- which are some of the first big mansions built in Hollywood. In some cases, the home is all that remains of the movie star's legacy, such as a Hollywood Hills house once owned by silent film actor Roman Navarro that is registered as a historical landmark because it was built by Frank Lloyd Wright's son. Hartunian's book, "Movie Star Homes: The Famous To The Forgotten" (Santa Monica Press), is in stores now.
