Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- A filmmaker is taking a stab at mocking reality television with a film called "Joe Killionaire." Sean David Morton's horror film takes a mock cast of single women and drops them in a castle in France where they think a corn-dog stand employee from Seattle is a multi-millionaire looking for a princess. One by one, they are bumped off. One thing Morton says he's always wondered about in horror films is, "when the killing starts, why doesn't everyone run away?" That's why he the film in a castle in France, where even if the girls fled in terror, they'd still run into French people who hate them because they're Americans. Morton has no love for reality TV. In his words: "I think [it's] the spawn of the devil." He predicts the genre will spin out of control until someone dies, which will be followed by a backlash and moral indignation. His film will screen at midnight June 12 at the DancesWithFilms Festival.
