Saving The Sitcom No Joke For Comedian

Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- The recent series finales of "Friends" and "Frasier" have inspired some couch potato critics to declare the sitcom dead.

But comedian Tom Papa hopes to give it a little mouth-to-mouth resuscitation with his new NBC series, "Come To Papa."

Although Papa has been working on the show for a while, he admits that he didn't know until recently that he "...was being asked to save the sitcom."

Papa plans to rise to the challenge and figures he's uniquely qualified because, as he puts it, "Who better to save the sitcom than a comedian?"

"Come To Papa," which also stars Steve Carell and John Salley. debuts June 3 on NBC.
