Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- When it comes to art, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but feng shui is the same no matter what your tastes. According to Malaysian feng shui expert Lillian Too, bad feng shui in art is pretty cut and dried. For instance, you never want a picture of a fierce-looking animal hanging in your house because their aggression can bring bad luck. Images of old, wrinkled faces can bring on illness, while war scenes will make anyone who lives in the house feel confrontational. Finally, antique paintings are taboo from a feng shui perspective because of the belief that eerie spirits are drawn to them. She also says these ghosts especially like to hide behind portraits with piercing eyes. Artistic subjects which bring better luck include mountains, horses and depictions of happy families.
