Basketball Fans Losing Sleep Over NBA Finals

New York, NY (WFN) -- The NBA playoffs may have a good effect on TV ratings but they're bad for American sleeping habits.

According to a sleep survey by Ambien, 55 percent of hoop fans are going later to sleep than usual on game nights -- and 92 percent are staying up more than an hour past their usual bedtime.

It gets worse: 16 percent say they have trouble getting to sleep -- especially if the game is exciting.

However, 39 percent of hoop fans are more likely to lose sleep over a basketball game if their favorite team loses, compared to 16 percent who can't get any shut-eye if their team wins the big game.
