Willits, CA (WFN) -- A barn that was the longtime home of the racehorse Seabiscuit may soon become the equine version of Elvis Presley's Graceland.

The barn is located at Ridgewood Ranch near Willits, California, and is where the thoroughbred champion spent the last seven years of his life before his death in 1947.

Although tourists have been traveling to Seabiscuit's barn for the last few years, it's only now that it's being restored to its former grandeur -- and with good reason.

Lynn Kennelly of the Willits Chamber of Commerce says Tobey Maguire's hit movie has kicked off a tourism derby in the area, with folks coming from all over the world to pay homage to the horse.

The first official tour of the barn takes place May 29 and will be attended by members of the Howard family, which originally owned Seabiscuit.
