Portland, OR (WFN) -- You've heard of pub crawls, but in Portland, Oregon, the big deal is an annual "Pug Crawl." The Oregon Humane Society raises money from the beer and bowsers event, where Pugs and other dogs mingle with humans at a local brewery. This year's event takes place Sunday (May 23) at the Portland Brewing Company and will feature a Pug costume competition and a Pug kissing booth. Event chairman Craig Olson is expecting 1000 people and 600-700 pugs to come out from as far away as British Columbia and Arizona. There's no chance of messy "accidents" inside the bar, because the Pug Crawl will take place in the parking lot outside the bar. And that's a good thing because occasionally the Pugs drink a few brewskis too. As organizer Olson says, "You can't be a Pug in Portland and not like beer."
