Milwaukee, WI (WFN) -- The Class of 2004 will soon graduate from college, and they're no slackers like the college students 10 years ago.

In fact, they're eager to work, according to a new survey by Northwestern Mutual life insurance company.

Their study shows that more than 60 percent of graduates want to immediately enter the workforce after college.

But they don't exactly have their act together yet because a whopping 75 percent say they haven't lined up a job yet -- and graduation day is looming.

No need to worry, though, because 80 percent believe their college education has prepared them for the real world.

When they finally land a job, they expect to bring in a salary anywhere between $20,000 to $40,000.

Finally, looking forward to the future, more than half of today's college grads say they expect to work for themselves someday and three percent have already started their own business.
