Around The Weird: Bizarre News Briefs

Tarragona, Spain (WFN) -- Five multimillionaires were busted in the Catalonian region of Spain, over the weekend for illegally drag racing at speeds up to 124 mph. The race is an annual event known as the Gum Ball 3000. Also participating this year, but not arrested, were actor Adrien Brody, Jason Kay, the singer of the group Jamiroquai, and a nephew of Saudi Arabia's king.

LONDON -- One of Australia's most iconic tools has boomeranged on the country. A British author is claiming it wasn't the Aussies who invented the boomerang, but the British instead. Terry Deary is claiming a rock known as Swastika Stone near West Yorkshire contains carvings representing the boomerang, and that Stone Age Brits invented the device, not the Australian Aboriginals.

ORALI, India -- An Indian man who has married 90 women in his 80 years says he wants to wed 10 more before he dies to make his record a clean 100. According to "The Asian Age," Udaynath Dakshiniray vowed to marry at least 100 women after his first wife left him. Although the senior citizen is still married, he says he's received nine proposals recently from as far away as Hungary, the U.S. and Japan.

CRANBROOK, England -- Postal carriers usually have problems with dogs, but it's a nasty cat that's keeping the mail away from one residence in Kent, England. Mailmen say the little tomcat, Bat, claws at their hands and legs when they drop mail through the letter chute. London's "Sun" tabloid reports that the Royal Mail has threatened to suspend postal deliveries to owner Dan Coyne's house if he doesn't straighten out his pussycat.
